BrosGuitars - Jack White paid special tribute to the late great Eddie Van Halen this past Saturday on SNL by using a very special EVH Wolfgang guitar designed by Eddie Van Halen himself.
Fun thing about these guitars is that they are named after is son Wolfgang Van Halen, who himself toured with the band until his fathers unfortunate passing after a decades long battle with cancer.
“I thought it could be a nice gesture for me to use this blue Eddie Van Halen model guitar for one of the songs tonight on SNL,” White wrote on Instagram earlier in the day.
White did not play any songs by Van Halen. However, he did play his 2014 song Lazaretto in homage to Eddie. White even added in a few finger taps at the end as extra tribute. White also played the White Stripes hit Ball and Biscuit. Check it out below!
Judging by the screaming octave sounds, we'd wager White was also employing his recently released CopperSound Pedals Triplegraph digital octave, too.
White was a last minute addition to the SNL lineup. Country star Morgan Wallen was originally slated to play but after pictures emerged online of him partying without a mask on he was dropped from the lineup.
